Austin, Texas was treated to a fine night of music as Houndmouth kicked off their fall tour in front of a sold-out crowd at the Historic Scoot Inn. Texas-based singer-songwriter Jarrod Dickenson began the night with a strong opening set, preparing the audience for the main act – Houndmouth.
Hailing from New Albany, Indiana, Houndmouth is an alternative blues band who first got their start playing SXSW in Austin nearly seven years ago. Since, the group has released three studio albums, with their most recent, Golden Age, debuting a year ago. The group serenaded the relatively intimate crowd for roughly 75-minutes, playing many of their hits, including “Sedona”, before closing out the set with a three-song encore consisting of “Penitentiary”, “Darlin’” and “Comin’ Around Again”, which had fans singing along until the very end.
