It was a cold day in late October, but when GRiZ comes to town, the cold isn’t stopping anyone. His “Ride Waves Tour” stop in Eugene marked the final show of the year at the Cuthbert Amphitheater, and he blew the non-existent roof off the place. Through vibrant colors and tantalizing visuals, the saxophone-playing DJ and his crew seamlessly waltzed through the bombastic setlist. It flowed in a way that few EDM shows do, as GRiZ was joined by an array of talented individuals, each of whom brought a unique flavor to the show.
GRiZ’s use of saxophone throughout the show gives it a real sense of funk. That has always been one of his signatures, and it translated beautifully into a live setting. The large, staircase of screens was an impressive sight as well, as the colors and visuals bounced around the flashing screens, making for the perfect audiovisual combo. While we’re sad we have to wait till 2020 for another show at the Cuthbert, GRiZ couldn’t have left a better tase in our mouth. Check out some photos from the show below!
