Float Fest was the place to be this past weekend. The festival, now in its fourth year, had an amazing line up along with amazing fans who gathered in San Marcos, Texas. Although the weather was scorching hot, festival goers were able to escape the heat by floating along the river, hence the name Float Fest. Day one started off with a bang with Texas natives, Neon Indian, whose set mesmerized fans with psychedelic tunes and rad dance moves.
Mac Miller who drew an enormous crowd followed Neon Indian. Miller’s devoted fans sang along to every song. Following Mac Miller, Girl Talk pumped up the crowd by playing remixes of popular songs that the crowd sang in return. The set, that featured toilet paper cannons, water guns, and lots of confetti, was the perfect act to get festival goers in the zone for what was coming next.
The night ended with two outstanding acts, Passion Pit and Zedd. Passion Pit’s Michael Angelakos, full of energy, gave his all performing hits such as “Take a Walk” and “Carried Away”. Fans loved every minute of it. To round out the electronic heavy day, Zedd enthralled the crowd with not only his music but also his staging. Day one foreshadowed the amazing day that was coming next.
