From the moment we stepped into Lincoln Hall on Friday, April 19th, 2022– we knew we were in for an exciting show. The venue was packed with eager fans for Easy Life’s Chicago performance, an eagerness that remained until the band finally took the stage.
Jay Wood, a local Chicago rapper warmed the crowd up with his laid-back beats and effortless performance, making him a perfect opener for the night. The lights dimmed and the crowd revved up, welcoming Easy Life on stage.
From start to finish, the band’s energy was dynamic and their engagement with the crowd stayed consistent. Whether it be lead vocalist Murray Matravers, reaching out to fans, Olly Cassidy tossing his drumsticks into the crowd or the moshpit that hugged the stage, the band managed to create an intimate yet lively experience for the concertgoers. This performance brought in a couple of surprises too.
Not only did the band return to the stage for an encore performance, they also gave the Chicago fans the privilege of being the first to hear their new song “BEESWAX” performed live. Easy Life’s set was impossible not to dance along to, and we left the concert with their lyrics and melodies stuck in my head.
