Singer and frontwoman Lauren Mayberry of CHVRCHES said it best, the Screen Violence tour is a pop horror show in three acts.
CHVRCHES finally set out on tour in support of their latest studio album, Screen Violence. Playing many new songs from the album, of course while still covering fan favorites throughout their discography, CHVRCHES stuck with the horror theme and brought their new pop horror album to life. With the show split into acts, costume changes from Mayberry and an encore with fake blood, it was an incredible experience that only CHVRCHES could deliver.
Midway through the set the crowd learned that the first place CHVRCHES had played in the States was in San Francicsco, and this hyped up the crowd even more. The love in the room was mutual with the band having the best time performing, while the entire auditorium shouted back the lyrics and danced along to CHVRCHES beats.
The pace stayed upbeat and the audience stayed in tune throughout the entire set. The loudest cheers and crowd participation came from songs like “Leave A Trace” and “Recover,” but many were as familiar with songs from Screen Violence and Love Is Dead. The show came to a close with the heavy hitting songs every fan knows, “The Mother We Share” and “Clearest Blue.” The auditorium was rocking from start to finish, both fans and the band will be eagerly waiting for the next CHVRCHES return to San Francisco.
