On the release day of her new album, The Loneliest Time, Carly Rae Jepsen celebrated at the beautiful Greek Theatre of Berkeley, California, to an amazing crowd.
A veteran and favorite of the pop industry, Carly Rae Jepsen knows how to create a fun and loving atmosphere. Behind her was a large intricate stage setup with lights, a circular screen, stairs, clouds, a four piece band and two backup vocalists. However, nothing shined brighter than Carly Rae herself. She’s performer, and person, that just radiates happiness and positive energy. Smiling, laughing, and moving around the stage to connect with as many fans as possible, she had the entire audience eating out of the palm of her hand. The packed Greek Theatre was up and dancing all night long, praising one of pop’s most iconic artists.
Carly Rae Jepsen wasted no time in pulling out all the stops. Three song’s in she performed Emotion‘s “Run Away with Me,” and halfway through the set she paused. Smiling cheekily to the crowd she announced “it’s that time of night!” and instructed the crowd to sing along loud, as the Greek roared into Carly Rae Jepsen’s hit song “Call Me Maybe.”
It truly was a night of celebration. Berkeley had the day to memorize and familiarize themselves with The Loneliest Time on Carly Rae’s release day show, which got plenty of love on the setlist. Of course, the set was well balanced with songs from each album off Carly Rae Jepsen’s discography. It was an incredible night for Berkeley, Carly, and pop music in general.
