After an almost three year hiatus of putting out music, Bad Suns released their full length album, Mystic Truth this year; followed by the 2019 Mystic Truth tour. The charismatic indie band set out on a north American tour of 29 dates, with Seattle, Washington being one of them. Carlie Hanson was chosen to be the only opener for the entire tour run and after seeing her perform live, it’s clear to see why Bad Suns wanted her on the bill. Carlie came out swinging, with an electric and unique stage presence. Hanson’s grungy yet light vocals paired with relatable lyrics and catchy instrumentation was entertaining to listen to and a perfect warm up for Bad Suns. Thirty minutes after Hanson walked off the stage, the lights dimmed and a hypnotic, synth voice introduced Bad Suns as they scurried to their places in the dark. Away we gobegan to play as the crowd roared from excitement. The night stayed high energy because Christo, lead singer, allowed the fans to have the microphone to sing back the lyrics as he bounced around the stage with his guitar. The entire band encouraged the crowd to interact with every single song, which made the night so unique and special to the fans. Bad Suns make sure to play crowd favorites like, Cardiac Arrest, this was a Home Once, and Daft Pretty Boys. Since Bad Sun’s released their first album, Language and Perspective, they have made a wave in the indie alternative music scene and no matter how long they stay away from the scene, they will be welcomed back with open arms, every single time.
