Supporting their sophomore album antisocialites, Canadian band Alvvays took over Eugene’s HiFi Music Hall with their dreamy blend of alternative indie-pop. With songs such as “Plimsoll Punks”, “Not My Baby”, and “Dreams Tonight”, the band showed how diverse, yet cohesive their sound is. Frontwoman Molly Rankin is an absolutely stunning presence behind the microphone, as she delivers passionate and heartfelt vocal performances song after song. Between songs, she’d tell stories and talk with the audience which made the show feel extremely personal and intimate. The venue was packed with everyone from college students to grandparents in attendance, proving how dynamic and accessible the band’s music is. Alvvays never disappoints and this show as no exception. Make sure to check them out if they are coming to your city!
