After a massive explosion on TikTok, alt-radio, and more, “Brutal” from Olivia Rodrigo finally has a music video.
Right at the beginning, the video makes it really clear that Petra Collins is behind the direction. Not only is the video different, unique, and pulls in the viewer, but the addition of different visual effects also creates a visual narrative that really shows how “Brutal” it is out there. In partnership with Apple iPad, the “Brutal” music video has a myriad of face filters and stickers, which are displayed over the singer and her costar’s faces.
As Rodrigo cascades through different looks and scenes, the singer’s aesthetic also changes, from ballerina to model to dancing in a full-blown Los Angeles traffic jam.
