Noah Kahan dropped his first single of 2021 and we just can’t get enough. After the success of his 2020 singles “Crazier Things” with fellow singer-songwriter Chelsea Cutler, and “Pride,” along with his EP Cape Elizabeth, the singer-songwriter has returned with “Part Of Me.”
It’s a simple, acoustic guitar-driven single paired with Kahan’s raw and passionate vocals that evoke a legion of emotions. Produced by a frequent collaborator and friend of Kahan, Grammy Award – winner, Joel Little ( Taylor Swift, Lorde, Shawn Mendes) the pair created magic. Kahan has always been such a lyrical storyteller and this is no different. To Kahan, “‘Part of Me’ is a song about someone looking back on an almost-romance and realizing that what felt like simply a passing moment of connection between two people was actually far more significant and represented a larger loneliness within. Drifting through life and avoiding feelings for anyone or anything is something I’m far too familiar with, and sometimes one experience with somebody can open somebody’s heart and force them to be vulnerable again. ‘Part of Me’ is about the realization that a seemingly insignificant moment can be far more important that you knew.” Kahan is a one-of-a-kind artist, with the ability to create such emotional and nostalgic feelings in just four minutes. His sympathetic storytelling is evident in his momentous verse as he confesses “I don’t miss you. I miss the way you made me feel.”
“Part Of Me” is the type of song to make you remember you are the main character of your life, taking in every moment, no matter how small.
