Noah Kahan isn’t just a singer, he’s a storyteller. With music that whisks you away from reality into his own world. His newest single “Animal” is another chapter to his story.
The Vermont native brings his signature intriguing lyricism and guitar-driven melodies as he narrates the feeling of being lost in such a fast yet cruel world. The need to find himself, as he sings the chorus “Oh, sometimes I feel like an animal. Oh, I climb so high just to feel a fall and let it go. So, look me in the eyes, am I someone else?” The new single was picked by fans after Kahan dropped a snippet of the song on social media and fans immediately knew they had to have this as the next single.
This new track follows his last two singles “Part of Me” and “Godlight” that were released this past May and June. The tracks from his upcoming sophomore album, I Was / I am have already amassed nearly 10 million streams combined.
Entering this new era Kahan says, “While writing this record, I’ve taken stock of who I am as compared to who I was when I started and what that means, for better or worse. I do have some perspective. I’ve also lost a lot. I’ve lost people close to me for different reasons. I’ve lost friendships. I lost my dog. Those experiences haven’t necessarily hardened me, but they’ve made me incredibly grateful for what I have now. The biggest change is a little bit of clarity in terms of who I am and the person I want to end up being. The songs on the record represent a new understanding of myself.”
Along with brand new music, Kahan is embarking on his North American I Was / I Am Tour this fall.
Tickets are selling quickly and available on his website.
