If you haven’t been paying attention to the music scene lately, you have no idea what is coming your way. Nightly, recently signed to Interscope Records is hitting the airwaves and making noise. Although in Nashville, Nightly doesn’t have a twang at all. The Alt/Indie-Pop band proves with brutal honesty in their Honest EP that they will make a name of themselves. In fact, they already have.
Many have praised their lead single “XO”. The track was even featured on iHeartRadio’s Alt 98.3 in Nashville this past Spring/Summer, and it makes for the perfect opening track on their first EP under Interscope. The track is everything your ears need to hear with a newly recorded mix and the same catchy chorus. It’s an infectious song that is simply dealing with letting go of someone you know is not good for you. “XO” already has over 2.3 million streams, which proves that “XO” was the lead single for a reason. Although released earlier this year, people are still in love with the track and that counts for something.

“XO” is a tough act to follow. However, “Talk To Me” tackles this challenge with confidence as it takes the EP into a different direction. If one thing is for sure, we know that Nightly knows how to write original and catchy songs that will get stuck in the listeners head. Overall, the craft of songwriting on the EP is on point. Case in point, “Talk To Me” is notable when it comes to writing strong lyrics. It’s definitely one to add to your playlist, and a song you will not stop listening to. Seriously, it’s an amazing track. Listen to it. You’ll thank us later.
The title track “Honest” is the most honest song on the EP. It deals with a lover being honest with something being wrong. Overall, it’s the most lyrically impressive with incredible production that adds to the mix.
Closing the EP is ‘No Vacancy”. Nightly slows things down with the strongest track on the EP, and one that should be the next single. It’s euphoric, beautifully mastered and proves that Nightly isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. The last 30 seconds leaves you wanting more, hoping and praying an LP is coming sooner than later.
You can catch Nightly on tour with K.Flay this November.
