With the Lonely Hearts Club Tour starting back up tomorrow in Seattle, Marina Diamandis (of Marina and the Diamonds) & Charli XCX has just released a duet titled “Just Desserts”, which you would think would be sweet and romantic, but the song turns out to be the complete opposite. The track is about revenge, dark, and driven by synthesizers. The chorus consists of the following lyrics: “Now that the shoe’s on the other foot, you suddenly decided to knock on wood. Wakin’ everybody in the neighbourhood, tellin’ everybody that I’m no good. Karma came around like I knew it would, like I knew it would. And it feels so good when the shoe is put, on the other foot. Yeah, baby, I know that it hurts, when you’re about to get your just desserts.” Charli’s sung-spoken verses merge quite nicely alongside Marina’s eerie vocals. Just Desserts is perfect promotion for this upcoming tour, and not only that, but it’s a great collaboration between two amazing artists. Listen (and download for free!) for yourself below!
