With Eaux Claire Festival in the horizons, any Bon Iver fan would expect a few new songs. And when the set times were announced, an hour and a half set time was announced. But in recent interviews, Justin Vernon (Bon Iver’s founder, leader and member) announced he would not be creating new music for Bon Iver.
But any avid music fan knows that this won’t stop Vernon. His other projects like Volcano Choir, Gayngs and Shouting Matches (to name a few) are always producing new music. He may not be producing music under the name Bon Iver, but he’s always writing.
In an interview with Grantland before Glastonbury, Vernon explains: “As far as putting a record together, I don’t really know what’s happening. Our show is our main focus. We don’t have anything booked after this. We don’t have any plans. We’re not being secretive — we just don’t have any plans.”
He also spoke about mistakes in his career, meeting Justin Timberlake and how Eaux Claire will be different than most festivals.
