Early this morning, Britney Spears tweeted the following news:
The 31-year old pop star announced that she would be contributing a new song titled “Ooh La La” for the upcoming Smurfs 2 sequel. The song to be appearing in the ending credits of the film was penned by a bunch of hit makers including: Dr. Luke, Ammo, Cirkut, Bonnie McKee and more, with the first three musicians taking up the production. “I have always loved the Smurfs as a kid and now my boys are the biggest Smurfs fans ever. I wanted to surprise them with a song in the movie. I know they’ll think it’s Smurftastic!” said Spears in a press release. Director Raja Gosnell calls it “the perfect Smurf-party song.” At the moment, there is no confirmed date that fans can expect to hear the tune, but The Smurfs 2 is set for a July 31st release, with stars like: Sofia Vergara, Jayma Mays, Katy Perry, Neil Patrick Harris, and Nina Ricci reprising their original roles in the animated film.
Britney has also been busy working on her upcoming 8th studio album, which remains untitled. Until then, have a look at the trailer for the movie!
