With the continuous excitement over new music, festival and tour announcements comes a new single from OneRepublic: “Run”.
Driven by a whistled melody and quick beat, “Run” is the latest single from the band’s new album Human, which does not currently have a release date. While fans are excited about the new album, the band made the difficult decision to postpone the album until they were able to properly celebrate and perform the album, without the constraints of a pandemic, social injustice and the ongoing world we live in.
Written and produced by Ryan Tedder, Brent Kutzle, Tyler Spry and John Nathaniel, the track is upbeat and sparks energy as it gets filled with gang vocals and additional instrumentation. As OneRepublic continues to defy genres and create music that appeals to their fans, both new and old, “Run” is the perfect song of the summer that inspires energy and has even started to encourage dance trends across TikTok and other social platforms.

On top of the single, the band released the music video for the track. Directed by Tomás Whitmore, the video features the band throughout notable film sets, slowly introducing band members who are secretly added in the back of scenes. Not only has the video surpassed five hundred thousand views in just 48 hours, the video has also earned positive excitement from fans who have once again said “OneRepublic never disappoints.”

The band also took to the TODAY Show to perform the track, opening the Summer Concert Series with the new track. Rather than the traditional live audience, nurses and medical professionals were socially distanced throughout the audience space, along with a virtual audience behind.
