It’s our favorite day of the week — New Music Friday! This week brought some jams from Palaye Royale, Lauv, Olly Murs, Lil Wayne and more. See our picks below.
Top 10 Singles for the Week of September 28, 2018:
1.“There’s No Way (feat. Julia Michaels)” – Lauv
The perfect pop artist match, if you ask us. The simple opening is brought to its full potential when Julia Michaels joins in for the chorus and a synth beat is introduced.
2.“Shallow” – Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper
The first look into A Star Is Born is a sweet ballad from the two stars and the perfect way to get us hyped for the movie’s release on October 5!
3.“Dying in a Hot Tub” – Palaye Royale
The next installment of Boom Boom Room (Side B) has all that rock influence we’d expect with smart lyrics and good beats.
4. “When I Fall In Love” – Michael Bublé
It’s been awhile since we’ve heard from the crooner, but Michael Bublé is back and better than ever with his latest track which is a cover from the legendary Nat King Cole.
5.“Outrunning Karma” – Alec Benjamin
If you were to mix classic acoustic with synth-based pop you would have this track. This song has a great story and makes the perfect addition to your chill out playlist.
6. “Moves (feat. Snoop Dogg)” – Olly Murs
What seems like an unlikely pairing, makes one perfect smooth pop track. This song will make you want to dance from the first hook.
7. “123” – Jess Glynne
Everything Jess Glynne releases is so infectious and this track is no different. This song offers a little more swagger than we’ve seen from her in the past and it’s everything.
8. “Dark Side of the Moon (feat. Nicki Minaj) ” – Lil Wayne
Lil Wayne has returned with a new record, The Carter V and this track is a highlight thanks to the range it shows the artist has musically. His vocal doesn’t defer from singing throughout and Nicki Minaj’s vocal only makes it better.
9. “Taki Taki (feat. Selena Gomez, Ozuna & Cardi B)” – DJ Snake
This Latin-influenced track brings in the best from multiple genres to create a unique track that is as anthemic as it is fun. Cardi B’s verse adds energy while Selena Gomez’ wispy vocal (in both English and Spanish!) is something to be appreciated.
10.“Paradise” – The Neighbourhood
The typical haunting sound with the simple beat backtrack is prevalent in this latest The Neighbourhood track plus strong echoes and synth influences.
Which of these are on your New Music Friday playlist today? Any we missed?
