It’s New Music Friday! Here are ten brand-new tracks to help you kick off the holiday weekend from MØ, Stella Prince, JoJo and more! See the full guide below.
1. “Live To Survive” – MØ
A strong pop sound with a danceable beat makes this track great, but the killer vocals are what takes it to another level. It showcases MØ’s artistry in a new light.
2. “Scared” – Stella Prince
A sweet and earnest singer-songwriter track that hits home. It talks of following your dreams even when it seems scary and intimidating. It’s all about keeping up that blind faith to go after what you want.
3. “Creature of Habit” – JoJo
Queen of pop JoJo returns with a new track that is slightly haunting and longing all wrapped up in one. It features a story of an internal struggle about handling a relationship that’s spinning out a bit all backed by JoJo’s amazing falsetto.
4. “Tied To A Tree” – AFI
AFI returns with their fifth installment of the upcoming album, Bodies, due mid-June. This song, in particular, shows off AFI’s haunted side and has vocals that ooze longing and need throughout. The chorus picks things up and ties everything together perfectly.
5. “We Are Gonna Live” – Ina Wroldsen
An inspirational track that’s all about family advice set to modern-pop beats. The key message here is that while yes, we are going to die one day, all the other days we are gonna live and we should enjoy our time on this silly little planet.
6. “Serenity” – Gabrielle Current
A vibey and soothing sound opens this track and invites you in from the very start. A wispy and beautiful vocals carry you further in and slowly melds into a low-fi-style chorus that will be sure to please.
7. “Leave A Light On” – Modest Mouse
A unique and futuristic sound that will be sure to draw you in from the very first note. This track is catchy and fun and has a smooth flow to it and shows off a new side to Modest Mouse.
8. “Que Mas Pues” – J Balvin & Maria Becerra
A Spanish track with the dance influences you’d expect but with a chorus will take things even higher. It’s a high-energy track that will be sure to get just about anyone moving.
9. “car ride home” – Ronnie Watts
A song about young love and young adventures also talks about doing these things with the wrong person and the struggle to come to terms with that. This track shows just what Ronnie Watts can do as a songwriter and leaves us ready for more.
10. “Lips” – The Maine
The next single from the upcoming album, XOXO: From Love & Anxiety In Real Time, is a classic The Maine song. It’s fun, punchy and infectious. This one might be stuck in your head for a few days (not that you’ll be complaining).
