New Music Friday is back! This week proved to be a tough one to narrow down our favorites. Check out our New Music Friday picks from Dashboard Confessional, Noah Cyrus, The Wonder Years and more!
Top 5 Albums for the Week of February 9, 2018:
1. Little Dark Age – MGMT
The pop-psychedelic duo is back with their fourth LP that is full of unique oldies-inspired collection of tracks.
2. Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life – The Wombats
The Wombats return with an intriguing mix of high energy pop with unique melodies that will be sure to keep listeners on their toes.
3. Crooked Shadows – Dashboard Confessional
It’s been a minute since we have heard from the alt-rockers, but after a nine-year hiatus, they are back and better than ever with their new LP full of the personal and raw lyrics we love and looks to their past work for influence while still managing to trek into new territory.
4. Always Ascending – Franz Ferdinand
An album that has all the ingredients to be a great dance record while still having the raw feel of a live rock band. It’s clear that Franz Ferdinand no longer cares what people think, they just want to dance.
5. Fifty Shades Freed (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) – Various Artists
One thing can be said about the Fifty Shades movies; the soundtracks from them are amazing! Featuring all of your favorites like Liam Payne, Dua Lipa, Sia and more.
Top 5 Singles for the Week of February 9, 2018:
1. “Sister Cities” – The Wonder Years
Modern rock at its finest. The Wonder Years show a new side to them on this raw track. Here’s to hoping a whole new record will follow suit!
2. “FRIENDS” – Marshmello (feat. Anne-Marie)
It feels like all of Marshmello’s tracks are some of the most infectious ones out there and this one is no different. Thanks to the help from Anne-Marie, it takes this EDM track to the next level.
3. “Wild Love” – James Bay
One of our favorite guys is back with another sweet, pop track that will be sure to give you all the feels.
4. “Nuh Ready Nuh Ready” – Calvin Harris (feat. PARTYNEXTDOOR)
Calvin brings the beat with the help of PARTYNEXTDOOR. This collaboration proves to be one of his best yet with catchy hooks and a modern twist.
5. “We Are…” – Noah Cyrus (feat. MØ)
It feels like Noah Cyrus is everywhere these days, (and we’re not complaining). This collaboration is an exciting one and makes for an anthemic dance track.
