Happy New Music Friday, friends! This week we have some great new tracks from The Weeknd, blackbear, Holly Humberstone and more! See our full New Music Friday guide below.
- “Take My Breath” – The Weeknd
The latest from The Weeknd is an infectious track that is honestly some of his best work. It tells a story while using that smooth and soulful vocal to tie it all together perfectly. - “@ my worst” – blackbear
A simple piano opens this track and sucks any listener in immediately. It’s got a haunting quality to the melody and the lyrics are longing and asking for someone to take them at worst. - “Am I Talking Too Much?” – OSTON
OSTON’s sweet voice gets a bit of an edge on the title track of her new EP, which dropped today. The backbeat is simple, but the lyrics are what really carry this track — they epitomize anxiety in a relationship perfectly. - “Please Don’t Leave Just Yet” – Holly Humberstone
Holly Humberstone’s next installment of her forthcoming EP, The Walls Are Way Too Thin, is easily her best work to date. The track is co-penned by Humberstone herself, frontman of The 1975, Matty Healy and Rob Milton. It’s longing and pleading with a simple melody that is reminiscent of a classic The 1975 song. - “A Concert Six Months From Now” – FINNEAS
FINNEAS has a new album dropping in October and the next taste of it hits home. It starts off as seeming like a story about wishing for shows to come back. Still, it opens further to reveal an underlying story about how a specific artist’s music can be tied to another person’s emotions and listening to that artist makes you want them back. - “Good Mood (Original Song From Paw Patrol: The Movie)” – Adam Levine
Don’t let the fact that this song is on a soundtrack for a kid’s movie deter you from checking it out. It’s a high-energy anthemic pop song that will be sure to get you dancing. - “Dear Miss Loretta (feat. Patty Loveless)” – Carly Pearce
A tribute to one of country music’s greatest icons: Loretta Lynn. Carly Pearce namedrops several of Lynn’s hits with the help of Patty Loveless and they come together and talk about how they have lived her stories themselves now. - “One True Prince” – Don Broco
Don Broco has dropped the latest single off their forthcoming album, Amazing Things and this track is definitely showcasing a new side of the group. It’s reflective and earnest while still holding on to their signature hard rock sound. - “Steal My Clothes (feat. Bea Miller)” – Kito
A winning collaboration if there ever was one. Kito and former BTS cover star Bea Miller come together and create something unique. This track is everything a solid track should be: fun, catchy and vibey. It’s all about a person working their way into your life even though you might not want them there. - “Stupid Feelings” – 220 Kid & LANY
Imagine a killer LANY song in an EDM style and that is this song. It’s fast-paced and exciting and only takes this track higher.
