Top 10 Singles for the Week of August 23, 2019:
1. “I Forgot That You Existed” – Taylor Swift
One of the many highlights of Taylor Swift’s new album, Lover. It has a fun quirky pop sound with an edge that tells her ex she’s way over it.
2. “Okay Okay” – Alessia Cara
A 90’s vibe with a soulful vocal from Alessia Cara takes this track up and up. With an infectious chorus that’s eccentric and fun it might just be some of her best work yet.
3. “I Warned Myself” – Charlie Puth
The deep, wispy vocal we dream about. This angst-filled track tells a story of fighting for what is right over desire.
4. “Teeth” – 5 Seconds of Summer
This track has a haunting vibe opening quickly morphs into a anthemic rock track that talks of the two-sided person in their lives.
5. “People” – The 1975
A strong new take for the alt-pop band, this new track literally screams a new view. It’s hard-hitting sound is meant to be a wake up call, and it’s working.
6. “What Am I” – Why Don’t We
A sweet ballad that’s all about finding the person you’ve been waiting for. It talks about the exact moment where they fall in love and how everything is just as perfect as it should be.
7. “Lose You Again (feat. BRAVES)” – WALK THE MOON
A slightly new take for WALK THE MOON, but it’s great – with the help of BRAVES, this track is taken to new heights and has a catchy beat that will have you keeping this track on repeat.
8. “Optimistic” – X Ambassadors
Loud and intrusive from the first note, this song gets it’s point across immediately. The world’s a rough place and it takes everything we have to try to be optimistic about the current situation.
9. “The greatest” – Lana Del Rey
The dreamlike California vibes track you’d expect, along with the deep realization that we all need a wake up call.
10. “Torn” – Ava Max
Current BTS cover star, Ava Max has been on a roll and has graced us with another new track. It’s a high energy track that is perfect for a party. Reminiscent of early 2000’s pop with synth backings, this is one of her best tracks yet.
