Happy New Music Friday! This week’s guide is a good one. Get ready for new tracks from Jonas Brothers & Marshmello, Betta Lemme, Olivia Rodrigo and more! See the full guide below.
1. “Leave Before You Love Me” – Jonas Brothers & Marshmello
After an exciting tour announcement, Jonas Brothers have a new single with EDM icon, Marshmello and it’s a good one. It’s got an 80’s pop danceable beat with a chorus that you’ll be singing on a loop for the foreseeable future.
2. “SUN GOES DOWN” – Lil Nas X
Lil Nas X is back with a new track that is much chiller than his last smash-hit single, “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)” but it is just as good. It’s empowering and talks about suffering in silence from a young age and overcoming that and being your best and truest self.
3. “Ce Soir” – Betta Lemme
One of BTS’ fav pop artists, Betta Lemme is back with a new track that shows off a sultry and fun side with this dance-infused track. “Ce Soir” (or “Tonight” in English) will be sure to get you moving.
4. “The Walls Are Way Too Thin” – Holly Humberstone
This track has a raw start, that makes you feel the pain of the story from the very beginning. It’s about being in your feelings and realizing that you’re second best to someone that was supposed to be your everything.
5. “Be Like You” – Tyler Shaw
A heartbreaking tale talking about seeing that ex for the first time after the breakup, and seeing that they are doing just fine with someone else. Tyler Shaw’s stronger vocal really conveys the pain that is impossible to miss. Some of his most earnest (and honestly, best) work to date.
6. “Under My Skin” – An Early Bird
A simple and calming singer-songwriter vibe carries throughout this track. It’s heartfelt and beautiful. Definitely add this one to your “chill night in” playlist.
7. “If I Could Move” – Maddy Wood
A strong-willed, yet soft-sounding vocal is what sets Maddy Wood apart. She completely encompasses that in this track, all the while transcending genres. It includes vibes of pop, singer-songwriter and country, all tied up into one sweet and heart-pulling song.
8. “Cool Girl” – Melanie Meriney
A strong country song that talks all about what guys mean when they say they want a “cool girl” and overcoming that and realizing guys like that aren’t worth it. vv
9. “Stop Making This Hurt” – Bleachers
Bleachers is back! The latest track from alt-pop genius, Jack Antonoff is a sneak peek into what’s to come from the next album and it’s lookin’ good. The song features clear Bruce Springsteen influences with an infectious pop beat that is sure to please.
10. “happier” – Olivia Rodrigo
The highly-anticipated debut album from High School Musical: The Musical: The Series star, Olivia Rodrigo is here and this track is a clear standout. It’s a beautifully tragic song all about wanting your ex to move on and be happy, but not wanting them to forget the past.
