Top 10 New Music Friday Singles for the Week of December 18, 2020:
1. “Slow Down” – Why Don’t We
One of our fav boybands is at it again with this new track that’s as infectious as it is earnest. It really showcases the group’s growth and what the new era has in store.
2. “It’s All Right (feat. Celeste)[From ‘Soul’/Duet Version]” – Jon Batiste
This track is oozing with well, soul. It’s smooth and will be sure to draw just about any listener in from the first note.
3. “Blessings” – dvsn
The highlight of this track is easily the vocal with its powerful sound and sultry emotion behind it. This is carried through the entirety of the song making it an instant hit.
4. “Last December” – Good Charlotte
Good Charlotte returns with a new hit that’s classic pop-rock in the best way: it features strong-willed lyrics and a hard-hitting beat to bring it all together.
5. “Find My Way” – Paul McCartney
Music icon Paul McCartney returns with a Beatles-influenced track that has a unique vibe that brings that combines that Beatles-esque vibe with modern influences.
6. “Gnat” – Eminem
The recently released Side B of Music To Be Murdered By talks of very relevant recent events, namely the pandemic and election. Eminem has never been one to shy away from saying what he wants, and this track is no exception.
7. “i miss u (Joel Corry Remix)” – Jax Jones & Au/Ra
A new take on this already-awesome track that takes it even higher. Somehow, Joel Corry found a way to make this track even more infectious and fun.
8. “Delicate Weapon” – Grimes & Lizzy Wizzy
This track is featured on the smash-hit video game, Cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack and it’s a perfect backdrop for any game player, with its minimal yet catchy backbeats and wispy vocal from Grimes.
9. “Wasted Energy (feat. Diamond Platnumz & Kaash Paige)” – Alicia Keys
A sweet R&B track that is full of classic vibes that highlight Alicia Keys’ vocal. However, Keys’ vocal isn’t the only one to write home about on this track: Diamond Platnumz and Kaash Paige’s contributions are both beautiful and really tie the whole track together.
10. “willow (lonely witch version)” – Taylor Swift
After dropping another surprise album, evermore, Taylor Swift has now dropped new versions of the album’s debut single, “willow”. This one in particular really has a witchy feel that is just the perfect vibe.
