On July 11th, 2023, at Pier 17 in New York City, up and coming hip hop star Nando STL took the stage to open for the legendary T-Pain. This was one of the last shows on T-Pain’s “Escape from Wiscanisn” tour that took place during the month of June, touching down in cities such as Chicago, Denver, and New York City. This tour is a fun-filled blast from the past with T-Pain whipping out all his older hits and some new ones off his recent album, “On Top of the Covers”. Nando STL not only joined T-Pain on tour, but also recently joined T-Pain’s record label, “Nappy Boy Entertainment”.
From the moment Nando stepped onto the stage, it was clear that his energy was like no other. Bouncing around the stage back and forth, Nando did an excellent job of hyping up the crowd. He effortlessly commanded the attention of every person in the audience, captivating them with his charisma and powerful delivery. His songs range from both high energy and slower tunes with cool hip hop beats and meaningful lyricism. He’s collabed with the likes of T-Pain, Young Cash, Nelly, and more. Although he’s been in the music world for a bit, his career has definitely reached an all time peak and it’s only going to get better.
Nando STL is from St. Louis, Missouri, having started his music journey playing drums at his local church. Although he never envisioned himself pursuing music as a serious career, he acknowledged that this is the first time in his life where he feels he is doing something that makes him genuinely happy. He’s also balancing being a father with his newfound stardom, and when asked how he does it, he said, “That’s something I’m still trying to figure out… but when it’s time to be a dad, I don’t balance it, I’m just dad.” To his core through and through, it’s apparent Nando’s a family man at heart, striving to one day buy a house for himself and his family.
