Nadine released her newest single “MISSED CALL” today and the self-proclaimed pop-princess is on the hunt to take the music world by storm.
The 22-year-old singer-songwriter is a recent college graduate of the University of Southern California and still resides in Los Angeles. Although originally from Miami, Nadine is looking for her big break within The Golden State and her newest single is putting her one step closer to seeing that happen. She has been working to introduce a new take on femininity within today’s electro soul-pop music scene by emulating all that is included within the female psyche.
Nadine kickstarted her professional music career in 2020 with two singles, “Three” and “My Way.” This latest release reflects similar tones, tempos and stylistic choices that lean into her musical drive. “MISSED CALL” is a three-minute three-second break-up ballad that showcases Nadine’s commendable ability to be vulnerable. The song comes from a time when she unexpectedly received a phone call from an ex-lover. Her way of putting this situation into words for all those who have been in one similar will resonate with many listeners out there.
Starting with a voicemail tone to symbolize the call from her ex-lover, an animated pop beat is continuously intertwined with mellow, soft string elements throughout the song. Nadine has a unique talent of being able to sing about and capture raw emotion from a certain moment while still making it sound pretty and graceful, similar to the musical styles of Billie Eilish. Her soft voice combined with different style elements ensures that the sound is uniquely her own.
With lyrics like “why is it called falling in love” and “somehow I know you’d catch me if I fall,” Nadine’s passion and sentiment come through strikingly. Although she may be new to the industry, we can see her going far in the pop world. She is definitely an artist to keep an eye out for and we look forward to hearing what she drops next.
