Miley Cyrus has officially announced her highly-teased ninth studio record. The album, called Something Beautiful, is scheduled out May 30 via Columbia Records. See the album cover art below.
Something Beautiful will feature 13 new songs from Cyrus. Her last album, Endless Summer Vacation, reached number three on the Billboard 200. The song “Flowers” stood at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for eight straight weeks.
Fans started picking up on Cyrus’ hints in recent weeks when the superstar artist appeared on mysterious black-and-white posters that showed her silhouette wearing the angular Mugler design. There were also changes to Cyrus’ website.
Cyrus first teased the album in a November interview with Harper’s Bazaar, stating that Something Beautiful was largely inspired by Pink Floyd’s The Wall.
“It’s a concept album that’s an attempt to medicate somewhat of a sick culture through music,” Cyrus said in the Harper’s Bazaar interview. “I would like to be a human psychedelic for people… I want to impact frequencies in your body that make you vibrate at a different level.”
Cyrus worked with Shawn Everett to produce Something Beautiful.
