Singer-songwriter Mi’das takes strong influences from all genres and creates a mash-up that becomes his individual sound. His debut album “All Inside Your Head” takes all the good things in R&B, soul, and acoustic guitar and twists them into something the music industry has been looking for.
A few songs of note on the album include “Justice”, “Sunshine”, “Feels Like Only Yesterday”, and “Get On Up”. The entire album has something for almost every music fan. Starting off with bold, choir-driven vocals, the Mi’das then takes listeners on a musical roadtrip. Making stops at simplistic guitar strums on the side of a beach and smooths ballads coming from piano in the corner of your favorite coffee shop, Mi’das understands how to produce an easy listening, but still interesting, piece of music.
The effortlessly mellow vocals that accompany all of the tracks is a reminder to all stages of music history. If you were to put “Too Little Too Late” into a biopic about 1960’s Blues music, it would blend almost seamlessly. Song by song, there is a good range of styles that keep the listening experience fresh and engaging. Along with that, what sets Mi’das apart from many mainstream artists today is his ability to carry a singular theme in his music while still working with various types of sounds. He knows how to switch it up throughout an album, yet everything still remains his own unique style.
Overall, “All Inside Your Head” keeps the good and moves it forward into something the industry needs, and is definitely asking for.
