The newest mau5trap signee, Lamorn, is showing out!
In his debut single, “Physical Layer,” the young EDM producer gets funky and sonic. It’s a pretty groovy track that gets very electro-house-heavy in the middle.
One of the first things that came to mind when we were listening to this is that it has a Daft Punk-esque vibe to it — which definitely got us in the feels.
This song is the same one that immediately caught the attention of EDM legend, deadmau5. Lamorn submitted “Physical Layer” for the mau5trap Monday’s livestream last August and the producer was impressed by the submission. Fast forward to today, he’s now signed onto the mau5trap label.
He talks about the production behind the song in a press release:
“This was one of those songs that happened all at once one morning. I remember as soon as I had the main beat, I looped it for the rest of the morning as I did other things around the house. It’s a great memory this track holds for me.”
At just 18 years old, he’s already produced remixes for artists such as Judah & The Lion, Kiesza and deadmau5. His latest remix was for SHAED’s song, “Part Time Psycho.”
Lamorn is what deadmau5 likes to call his musical protégé — and rightfully so. At a young age, he proves that he has a masterful and talented skill in music production and composition. His work is a beautiful showcase of exuberant melodies and lush sonic elements. It’s hard not to fall in love with it.
This is only the start for the 18-year-old producer. In fact, he will be performing live for the first time this August in Phoenix, Arizona as a supporting act for deadmau5.
With his first single down and many more on the way, 2021 is looking to be his year. We can feel it.
