It’s not very often when you find a true storyteller that is both compelling and has potential to be musical legend. Maren Morris is both and she proves this in new video filmed at RCA Studio A. Her vocals in her compelling song ‘Once’ offer range and command, proving that she has what it takes to deliver a beautiful live performance.
‘Once’ is a song with vulnerability and offers raw emotion similar to Adele’s ‘Somebody Like You’ or Taylor Swift’s ‘All Too Well’. “Darling we were too gone to stay,” she sings. “Couldn’t get through the night, so we had to call it a day.” The melody descends showcasing Morris’ powerhouse vocals in the best way possible. The chorus is what gets us as she belts out with total command and emotion in her voice. “Baby please know that if somehow we make it alive and both get out on the other side / I know this might be asking a lot when it’s all said and done / Don’t forget you loved me once.” ‘Once’ is a beautiful masterpiece, and shines bright with excellence.
Morris caught Nashville’s attention with her debut hit ‘My Church,’ a gospelized country rocker that proved the newcomer had potential. It wasn’t too long after that when Keith Urban announced Morris will be hitting the road with him on his ripCORD World Tour. Ever since, the Texas native has been taking the world by storm with powerhouse vocals, beautiful storytelling, and pure beauty. She’s one of the best of our time and we’re grateful to be alive for it.
