Today, Chicago resident Mackenzie Moore shared her new single, “Change.” Filled with poppy one-liners and an infectious beat, Moore has a major talent for relatable lyrics.
After a couple of years away from music, Moore shared that she recently passed the bar and is a licensed attorney, on top of creating music. Inspired by Adele, Alicia Keys, Sia, Evie Irie, and more, the singer’s latest music approaches a new, self-created genre.
About the single, Moore said, “The inspiration behind Change was trying to be in a relationship with someone who just wasn’t at the same stage of life as you. Writing this narrative of ‘I have these dreams and aspirations and I just don’t think you get that which means this isn’t going to work.’ and kind of making that executive decision that ‘until they can figure their shit out,’ I can’t attempt to be in a relationship with you.”
“Change,” co-written with James Robert Meier, Sergio Ortega, Michael Andrew Lefton of The Dives, and produced by Rob Chiarappa is a perfect song for the summer and is sure to make it on playlists everywhere.
