Nashville natives, LOYALS debut their first self-titled album and it’s the perfect blend of all your favorite bands: including The 1975, LANY and a splash of The Maine.
The 12-track debut opens with “Face,” which is an obvious tribute to The 1975; it’s a 45-second opening that has the signature electronic pop hooks and dreamy sound that we know and love. Directly following is “Mind Up,” a high-energy track that the group dropped as a single back in 2015.
The album weaves in and out of stories of love and heartbreak, from soft ballads to fun upbeat jams that will have just about anyone hooked. Highlights include the infectious “Bail Out,” “Skyline” and “To The Top.”
The LP closes with “Don’t Let Me Let You Down”. Here is another track with influence from The 1975 that features a strong chorus and honest lyrics, all the while has a beat that will get you moving.
LOYALS is a great collection of coming-of-age lessons that show the ups and downs of life as it is. It’s easy to say that this record will be in heavy rotation for us for the foreseeable future.
