It’s about time!
4 years after the then-teen musician dropped her explosive single “Royals” and massively successful album Pure Heroine, Lorde is ready to join the music scene again after a lengthy absence that left many hungry for more.
The trend of mysterious single/album announcements continues as Lorde releases clues for her new song. Initially, she tweeted a lone link to a website that only showed one thing: a fifteen second video of her with some barely-discernible background music (which we may presume could be her new song). The video displayed two dates: “3.2.17 NYC” and “3.3.17 NZ”.
Today, she tweeted another hint for her homeland — a map for Kiwis to get a “glimpse at what’s coming” by searching in Auckland, New Zealand.
AUCKLAND: from 9:30pm TONIGHT, i’ve organised a few more little glimpses at what’s coming. if you want to know more, consult the map.. ❇️ pic.twitter.com/IVMcksOS8M

At one of these sites, a projector played a video on the side of a building. The words “Green Light” flashed across for the city to see as onlookers heard some of the song’s chorus. The other site showed a radioactive-looking scene with some (assumed) lyrics: “She thinks you love the beach. You’re such a damn liar.”
With new Lorde music to come this week, the only thing we can do is rejoice and listen.
