Pop artist Logan Prescott just gave us a new song to add to our summer playlist with his new single “Tongue.” This is Prescott’s first single of the year that will definitely be one to blast on your summer road trips.
In the new Covid age, making music was a bit difficult at first, because of the uncertainty and terror in the world, and to try to make upbeat pop music was something that didn’t feel right or come naturally for Prescott at first. With his two latest singles dropping at the beginning of quarantine and in such a tumultuous time, all the proceeds from his last single “Love Again…” went to various organizations focused on assisting the Black Lives Matter movement.
Fully written and produced by Prescott himself, looking at old vinyls and seeing a picture of an old red truck is what sparked the inspiration for this new single as the Texas-native immediately began writing the first line. Wanting to capture that essence, the track captures the infatuation of the beginning of a relationship. The now LA-based singer is gearing up to film a music video for the single but with a more laid-back, at-home aesthetic.
Inspired by artists like The 1975 and LANY, not only because of their memorable music and production style, but for their ability to take risks within their music, Prescott hopes to achieve as well as an independent artist. His music is also a reflection of pop icon Lauv, and a testament to the skillset, talent and potential this rising star has to become a name in the pop music scene.
Already obsessed with “Tongue,” we can’t wait to hear more when Prescott drops his debut EP this fall.
