If you’re daydreaming about love and being in a relationship this Valentine’s Day, then you might want to take a look at Lizzy McAlpine’s latest music video for her song “ceilings”.
The video directed is directed by Gus Black, a frequent collaborator of hers, and features her boyfriend, Michael Hanano, to which McAlpine hard-launched their relationship on her Instagram.
On the meaning of the video, McAlpine states, “the ‘ceilings’ music video represents the seconds after meeting someone you like, where you begin to picture a relationship with them. Ultimately, you realize that it doesn’t actually exist and it was just your imagination. I think we all do that, it’s human nature and that’s really what the song is about too.”
The song “ceilings” is from her second studio album, five seconds flat, released last April and has gained over 53 million streams on Spotify alone. After gaining viral attention off TikTok, the song has become increasingly popular with nearly 185M views across 40,000 videos.
Her second studio album, five seconds flat, features 14 different tracks and includes collaborations with Grammy Award winners FINNEAS and Jacob Collier, as well as talented artists such as Ben Kessler and Laura Elliot. You can stream the album on all music platforms here.
To continue promoting her music, McAlpine is set to hit the road on her fast-selling and sold-out “The End of the Movie” Tour. Check out her official website for further details on her tour and to join the waitlist for upcoming shows.
