Sunday evening, Life Is Beautiful concluded its jam-packed weekend with festival-goers enjoying all of the art, food, experiences, and performances the event had to offer for one last day.
Although the morning was quiet, the day kicked off with the loud and proud House of Yes with the fiercest of drag queens.
The House of Yes was a crowd favorite offering a beauty bar, fun games, great music, as well as conducting their PRIDE Parade that marched throughout the festival grounds.
More fun was to be had back at the Toyota Music Den as they handed out Life Is Beautiful bandanas, neon graffiti fanny packs, offered intimate performances from some of the festival’s favorite acts, and our personal favorite, cotton candy!
After we capped off mid-day snacks and dance at the Stella Summer Solstice dance floor, we had the opportunity to hang out with Surf Mesa before we got ready for the final headlining performances of the night from Gorgon City at Fremont Stage, A$AP Rocky at the BACARDÍ Stage, and Billie Eilish at the Downtown Stage.
Check out our conversation with Surf Mesa here.
At 11:15pm, Billie Eilish walked her way down a bright white ramp that sat in the middle of the Downtown Stage as the crowd anxiously awaited for the music to drop. Billie, and her brother FINNEAS, bursted into “bury a friend” and fans yelled the lyrics back to Billie as she danced around the flashing, red-lit stage.
Being it her festival return since before the pandemic, Billie commanded the crowd through her hits from her debut and sophomore albums, WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? and Happier Than Ever.
Billie Eilish truly has a knack for making every single person in the audience feel seen and heard as she sang her songs “when the party’s over”, “Therefore I Am”, and “everything i wanted”.
Billie closed out her electrifying set with the title track of her latest album, “Happier Than Ever”, and her monster hit “bad guy”. This evening was one for the books and proved to be one of the best live performances we have ever seen.
The 2021 Life Is Beautiful festival officially came to a close and festival-goers made their exit from Downtown Vegas. It truly was a beautiful weekend for art and music. Until next year!
