On March 24th, Lewis Watson released his much-anticipated album Midnight. The English singer-songwriter maintains his mellow beats and acoustic style from his earlier EPs, but he adds some heavier and upbeat songs to the mix as well.
The first track “Maybe We’re Home” gives off an upbeat, indie-rock vibe. The next song “Little Light” is reminiscent of Bon Iver and Ed Sheeran. “Deep the Water” and “When the Water Meets the Mountains” are two personal favorites – both acoustic and emotional.
Songs like “Run” and “Give Me Life” show just how masterful Lewis is at writing lyrics. His vocals are strong and the lyrics are filled with stories that are definitely relatable to listeners. The track list concludes with “Midnight” which is a soft, touching song that perfectly wraps up the album.
