Just like that, our favorite weekend of the year, Bunbury weekend, has came and went. We were so incredibly happy to be able to attend such an amazing festival this year, yet again.
Day two brought us the incredible Dashboard Confessional. There is no better way to be transported back to summertime in the early 2000’s than to catch a Dashboard set. A perfect mix between old hits and new songs had us in our feels the whole set. We will always remember that whole crowd screaming along to “Vindicated” and “Hands Down”!
Next up was Awolnation who always brings their everything to each performance. As interesting as it we, we truly did not know where to keep out eyes because each member brings so much energy and so much fun. Not to mention, front man [Aaron Bruno] was looking like a fashion icon in his pastel pink suit.
Greta Van Fleet closed out the night and brought back good ol’ rock n roll while they were at it! Thousands of fans watched in awe at their incredible riffs and amazing vocals. These guys have so much talent, it is hard to believe this was their first headlining spot on a festival. We can not wait for them to take over the festival circuit one day and the world shortly after.
Day three started out for us with the lovely ladies in The Aces. So many fans were so excited to see this talent band take the stage. With a bit of a chill vibe in their music, their performance was anything but that. It was so awesome to see the four girls put their heart and soul into their performance.
We caught up with lovelytheband after that. Nothing stopped them from crushing their set to a massive crowd on the CVG River Stage. Everyone was swaying along as they performed all of our favorite songs. They even had Tyler Szalkowski of State Champs come out and play with them. We definitely were not expecting that.
Finally, it was time for the big moment. The 1975 closed out day three and by far had the biggest crowd we saw all weekend! An emotional performance brought tears, laughter and a night surely no one will forget! Matty [Healy] even climbed up the side of the state and jumped into the crowd! By the end, everyone was screaming for more. Sounds like we were not the only ones that did not want the weekend to end!
We absolutely loved attending Bunbury this year and we cannot wait to see what they lovely people who put this festival together have in store of us!
