A month and a half since the release of its third album Dreamland, Glass Animals has announced “Live In The Internet,” a new show that will air on Oct. 15 featuring the full band, all the props and set designs that the band is known for and even special guests.
Speaking about the new show, Glass Animals frontman Dave Bailey said that since he is upset that the band has not been able to play any “normal” live shows for the new album, the band is looking forward to doing something it could not have done in real life anyway.
“The internet has these amazing capabilities and we’re going to try and do something with those and play music live at the same time,” Bailey said. “Gonna be a bit of an experiment, but it’s gonna be fun.”
The fans can expect all the Glass Animals songs, “new tunes,” set design, amazing visuals, all the fan-favorite props and even special guests, Bailey said.
The devil may work hard, but Bailey and the rest of the band have surely been working harder. They have not slowed down in any way ever since the pandemic hit, and have been going strong when it comes to keeping the fans (and themselves) engaged and entertained.
The release of the album was just a culmination of everything that the band has been doing throughout the months, be it dropping a few songs here and there to hype up the album release, Bailey making the “Dreamland” music video at home by himself, or recording the video for “Heat Waves” by employing the help of people and their cell phones in a neighborhood in England.
On the other side, Bailey has been busy making a “Quarantine Covers” series on YouTube where he has covered songs like “Heart Shaped Box,” “Young & Beautiful” and “Lean On Me,” all looped live on YouTube.
The band has also done Netflix viewing parties with their fans and have created a wonderful website which is full of easter eggs and clues for upcoming projects as well as open-sourced materials so that the fans can let their creative juices flow and create some fantastic art, with the band sharing their favorites on social media.
