Australian rock and roll queen Courtney Barnett is about to unleash something big.
Yesterday the singer and songwriter promoted a Spotify playlist called Tell Me What You’re Listening To. She linked the playlist in a professionally shot Instagram post.
The playlist features songs from rockers like Gang of Four, Prince, and David Byrne. One off-the-cuff track is called “All Eyes On The Pavement” by Oliver Paul.
It is a 13-second track that is undeniably sung by Barnett. Fans may remember that Oliver Paul is a character in Barnett’s hit song “Elevator Operator” from her debut album Sometimes I Sit and Think, Sometimes I Just Sit, which held the number one spot in five different categories on US Billboard charts.
The snippet is from a track called “Rae Street” which was featured in a recent TikTok post from Barnett. The full song made its debut on July 7 on Australian radio station, Triple J. It is yet to be released on streaming platforms.
