Last week on September 23, American pop band LANY kicked off their “GG BB XX” Tour with the first show in Birmingham, U.K. The first of four stops on the U.K portion of this tour was a smashing success for the band and a great welcome back to touring internationally.
Formed in 2014 in Nashville, LANY is made up of lead vocalist Paul Jason Klein, drummer Jake Goss and guitarist Les Priest. With four albums and this as their sixth headline tour, the band has achieved notable success. Their music combines pop, R&B and indie with alternative rock to produce a sound that allows for you to dance around in your bedroom or cry about an ex if needed. We recommend the songs “Hericane”, “Good Girls”, “Malibu Nights” and “somewhere.”
Following the September 3 release of their fourth studio album gg bb xx, the band embarked on a 29-show tour through the U.K., U.S. and Canada. The U.K. shows were in Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and London.

Opening for the band’s U.K. shows was Irish-French singer-songwriter Cian Ducrot. Ducrot is an up-and-coming artist who released his debut mixtape started in college in 2020. His sound is similar to the likes of Ed Sheeran, so if you like that chill and acoustic yet pop-influenced sound, be sure to check out some of his music.
For the U.S. portion of the tour, Jake Scott, Alana Springsteen and Salem Ilese are set to open. Scott is a pop singer-songwriter from Arkansas who has achieved steady levels of success since his first EP in 2013. Scott has been releasing a new single every month since 2018 and even wrote the well-known song “Brooklyn in The Summer” for Aloe Blacc.
Springsteen, a country singer from Virginia Beach, has already gained a substantial amount of listeners at such a young age. After signing her first publishing deal at age 14 and doing some searching of what her sound should be, her debut EP was released in 2019. Her first album History of Breaking Up (Part One) was released this year and we encourage you to check it out if you need a new country artist to listen to.
22-year-old singer-songwriter Ilese blew up on TikTok last year for her single “Mad at Disney.” Since then, she has gained quite a following online and developed a considerable fan base. She has released a number of singles and EPs and is surely an artist to watch out for. Listen to “Mad at Disney” here.
LANY has been on the rise for the past few years now and this tour is just another step on their journey. We cannot wait to see what they do next!
