As the newest single from her debut album Clarity, Kim Petras has just released the stunning video for “Icy”. As one of the best song on Clarity, and arguably one of the best pop singles in recent memory, the anthemic “Icy” shows Petras numbing herself from the pain of a past relationship, and making herself stronger because of it. The video follows a similar narrative, as Petras appears trapped during the heartbreak of the first verse, but by the time the second verse hits, she is a pillar of freedom and empowerment.
The chilling blues and shimmering silvers shown throughout the video prove to be a visually striking pair, that perfectly compliment the track’s sound and message. It’s striking, sexy, and hits every note that a pop video should hit. Between her recent Halloween-themed album TURN OFF THE LIGHT, and this new video for “Icy”, Kim Petras continues to prove that she’s the pop star we need right now. Check out the video below!
