Kanye West was scheduled to headline Governor’s Ball in New York City on its’ last day, Sunday. However, due to worsening weather and signs of lightning, all Sunday acts were cancelled and fans of acts like Chvrches, Death Cab for Cutie, Two Door Cinema Club, Courtney Barnett and more were forced to return home.
Kanye did not take this cancellation lightly. He took the day to perform at Hot 97’s Summer Jam, an annual hip-hop festival that takes place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey and includes acts like Big Sean, 2 Chainz, DJ Khaled and more. Kanye showed up and performed songs like “Famous” and “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 2”; however, the festival closed the stage that was slated for Chance the Rapper and Desiigner due to weather. The festival ended early after a fight broke out within the crowd.
Afterward, Kanye could not resist having his own performance; he hinted at performing at having a show at Webster Hall at 2am, but it was shut down; he was also suspected to perform at Trump Soho, but that was cancelled as well.
