Emerging Parisian DJ, producer, and rapper Kaïju released his debut single “6Foot7Foot” with a video today. It fuses ghettotech, horrorcore, deep rhythmic roots, and baile funk elements, creating a unique and exciting sound. Released through the label he and his sister ELOI created back in November (Arp 169), the debut was also accompanied by another single “Nik Le Club,” marking his step in the spotlight with a double release.
At 16, he spent many weekends sneaking into some of the most prominent underground clubs in Paris. Identifying as both bisexual and multiracial, Kaïju realized he was in search of a community where he could be fully himself. He discovered this refuge in the underground club scene where adrenaline is in abundance and light is shined on those that are usually kept in the shadows.
Drawing inspiration for the song and video from this Paris scene he loved so much, the video was shot in the city of lights and love.

Talking about the creation of his debut song, Kaiju shared with Beyond the Stage when he wrote it and what it’s about.
“I wrote ‘6FOOT7FOOT’ when I was broke, sleeping on friend’s couches trying to get by. I had just lost my two jobs because of COVID, and had to move back to Paris and in with my parents. I wrote the start of the verse after coming back from a club. I was filled with good vibes and wanted to capture that energy. It’s a song about being free, strong, and proud.”
His artistry and name were built because of the desire to encapsulate this energy in his music. Kaïju, which means “giant monster” in Japanese, is a direct tie to how he believes he is perceived by society. His music is meant to serve as a place for people to escape to where “all souls have freedom to take their truest form.” He represents “all the love and violence that emanates from society in the underground world of the club.”
Speaking on his other song “Nik Le Club,” Kaïju shared with Beyond the Stage its purpose and the energy it is meant to give off.
“I have always wanted to create a French Club anthem, like Three 6 Mafia’s ‘Tear Da Club Up ’97’ or Travis Scott’s ‘No Bystanders.’ I tried to channel this energy that you feel before a mosh pit hits in the club, after a long day at work and being worried about a check that hasn’t shown up. I want people to forget about their bad day and release the tension and anger built up inside them.”
Once again, this song focuses on the places that accepted him, the underground clubs. Currently 24 years old, he is able to explain how and why he and others are drawn to these club scenes. “We were made by this society, but that same society is scared of us because of our differences, so we evolve and rejoice in these darker places.”
Kaïju’s music is who he is and what he loves. It is a space for everyone to be free as their authentic selves. If this is what you’re looking for, stream “6FOOT7FOOT” and “Nik Le Club” and follow him on his socials.
