Jeffrey James, former contestant on the NBC hit show Songland, releases the full studio version of his beloved song “We Can Be Heroes.”
It is a powerful and emotional piano ballad that highlights his impressive songwriting and rich vocals. It’s an inspiring song that has such an anthemic feel to it. It could’ve been the perfect Olympic song if you ask us.
In a press release, James talks about the inspiration behind the song:
“‘We Can Be Heroes’ is about stepping up when times look dark. It’s about helping those in need and not waiting for someone else to step in as the hero,” Jeffrey says. “We all have it in ourselves to take responsibility for our future and look out for each other.”
The single follows the release “Small Talk” back in April. The Nashville artist is finding great success in his music, garnering over a million streams. His songs were even used in ads for Xbox Game Pass and Ford including TV shows such as Jack Ryan and All-American.
The singer-songwriter’s newest single is the same song he presented on Songland for guest judge Martina McBride. He got to work with OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder to help refine and strengthen the song. The country icon ended up selecting another song — but maybe it was all for the best.
It is a song that was truly meant to James. His soulful and powerful performance blew people away and it’s hard to imagine anyone else singing this song.
The song quickly grabbed viewers’ attention and instantly became a fan favorite — it even had fans willing to pay $5 for the full song. Now, fans can listen to it on all music platforms.
Jeffrey James is a star in the making. With already a passionate fanbase behind him, there’s no telling how far he’ll go.
