James Bay, notorious British singer-songwriter performed his latest single, “Chew On My Heart” in a little bit of a different venue than the run of the mill sound stage. In fact, he performed the track in one of his city’s most famous spots: The London Eye!
The performance was part of an episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden this week where James Corden himself admitted that Bay had made him majorly homesick for his former home of London (the host now lives in Los Angeles, where his show is produced).
Bay was reportedly the first artist to ever perform live on the attraction making it truly a one-of-a-kind show. The show was sure to keep in line with all required COVID-19 protocols and managed to bring back a tiny slice of live music into the world. The segment from the show has spectacular views of the performance and offers a fun new take on show performances during this time of quarantine.
The performance was just as sweet and earnest as you’d expect from the singer-songwriter, complete with a split-screen of each of his band members to ensure social distancing. The clip also offers fantastic views of London which can help viewers feel like they’re watching the clip in real-time instead of their couch in their corner of the world.
“Chew On My Heart” dropped in early August and numerous remixes and videos have been released to support it. Bay has seen some serious success on this track with the lyric video reaching over 235,000 views, while the actual music video has over 2 million views.
