After a long four years since Wasteland Baby!, Hozier is finally back with his next project. The Irish folk artist is set to release his newest EP, Eat Your Young on March 17th, which is both St. Patricks Day and his birthday. This will be Hozier’s first release since his single “Swan Upon Leda” came out this past October.
The artist leaked a snippet of the titular track on Instagram and TikTok accompanied by an ominous doodle. On the leak, he sings, “I’m starving, darling/Let me put my lips to something/Let me wrap my teeth around the world.” Based on a newsletter he sent out to fans, it’s speculated that the full album is Dante’s Inferno-themed. In the handwritten note, he described the album as “the journey of the last few strange years in a loose and playful path of nine circles.”
In other news, Hozier recently announced multiple gigs over the course of this year. On September 8th and 9th, he will be headlining the Moon River Music Festival in Chatanooga, Tennessee. On May 27th and 28th, he will be headlining the Wonderworks Festival in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In addition, Hozier will also be headlining shows on his home soil, including Malahide Castle in Dublin on June 30th. This will be the artist’s first show in Ireland since his Wasteland Baby Tour in 2019. Fans are anticipating a tour announcement and release date for his forthcoming album Unreal Unearth, which will be his third studio album.
The tracklist for the EP is as follows:
- “Eat Your Young
- “All Thing End”
- “Through Me (The Flood)”
