Indie-rock duo, Heffron Drive released their new single, “One Way Ticket” on Friday to an eager and waiting audience. With an OK Go-like video and rock sound, Heffron Drive fans went wild for their newest release. Comprised of Kendall Schmidt and Dustin Belt, the two have taken to Twitter to talk about details of the song, answering questions and comparing similarities to the band’s musical inspiration.
Via a premiere on Billboard, Schmidt described the meaning of the song:
“A song that “is inspired by the feeling you get when the only place you want to be in the world is with the person next to you.”
“One Way Ticket” definitely represents a new era for Heffron Drive, declaring a more mature sound, a conceptual video that has fans watching over and over again. After releasing an EP earlier this year, “One Way Ticket” represents Heffron Drive’s growth in both their sound and their audience.
