After spending her summer promoting her rock inspired smash “Nightmare,” Halsey has shared the music video for her song “Graveyard”. The song tells the story of a tortured love, and about the idea of falling in love with someone that makes you nervous, instead of falling for someone who makes you feel safe.
From day one, Halsey has always had a strong vision for the visuals that go with her music, and “Graveyard” is no exception. The video is visually stunning, and filled with connections to the last video she released for her song “Clementine.” On video release day, fans took to Twitter to talk about the symbolism they were finding in the video and the connections between the two songs. Halsey’s forthcoming album Manic (which is set to be released early next year), which is allegedly an album “by Ashley, for Halsey”.
The video for “Graveyard” shows Halsey running around a carnival with Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney, both of them dressed up in Alice In Wonderland type dresses. It shows them running around like little kids, having the time of their lives. At the end of the video, Halsey is seen walking into an aquarium, and the second she steps in, the exit sign on the aquarium door disappears, showing her transitioning from being Ashley to turning into Halsey, symbolizing that she can no longer go back to that carefree time in her life.
