19-year-old Peach Martine is bursting with spunk, positivity, and talent! With her fierce drive and release “Romeo and Juliet” taking off, the young rockstar is destined for greatness.
BTS: Tell us a bit about yourself!
Martine: Peach Martine, 19. Originally from Cleveland, but I’ve been living in Miami Beach and I am obsessed! I’ve been singing since I could talk and writing since I could hold a pen. I play 5 instruments, and LOVE composing and being on stage. Oh, and I’m a caffeine addict!
BTS: Is Peach your real name?
Martine: Yes, it’s my birth name! I really like my name. Everyone in my family has cool ones; my sister is named Dresden and my brother is Raymond, but we call him Rain.
BTS: What inspired your latest single “Romeo and Juliet”?
Martine: It’s inspired by the day I fell head over heals in love. It’s a love song but has an upbeat, chaotic, sexy, sarcastic vibe to it. It’s that passionate feeling, like tipping over the edge of a rollercoaster.
BTS: What was the process like for creating the song?
Martine: Kinderr produced this one- it was super fun to record and make! I wrote it on my own in less than 20 minutes. I knew where I wanted it to go; it was the easiest song for me to write.
BTS: Is there a music video?
Martine: There will be very soon! It looks really good, we’re just adding some finishing touches… I can be a perfectionist.
BTS: For those that don’t know, what is Love, Peach?
Martine: It’s an album of poems I’ve written, played over piano chords! It all started on Tiktok back in 2020. I didn’t really know what I was doing- I just started screwing around. My clips started blowing up and people wanted me to release the poems; I guess they connected with them. Some people even got my words tattooed!
BTS: How would you describe your sound overall?
Martine: Alternative pop rock artist. That’s basically what I am but most people say I’m genre-less. I write lots of ballads; I’m big on ballads. I’m always “ballading” about something… I’d also describe my music as theatrical rock ‘n’ roll. I take a lot of inspiration from classic rock.
BTS: How does your life influence your music?
Martine: My life constantly influences my music. Anyone can write a basic pop love song but I try to really channel the artistry and storytelling. I’m trying to break some rules… I want to cross some boundaries with my music. I’m really trying to do cool shit.
BTS: What’s your favorite part about being an artist?
Martine: Entertaining people! I feel like that’s my purpose.
BTS: What can we expect from you next?
Martine: I’m working on my debut album. I have a lot of mind blowing collabs, too! And I want to tour the album this year. My dream is to go on world tour- I want to see the world during the day and play my songs at night.
BTS: What are you most excited for in the future?
Martine: I want some Grammy’s- I can’t die happy without them. I have so many crazy ideas for genres I want to create. I’m dying to work with producers like Jack Antonoff, Mark Ronson and Flume. I also want to write a Broadway musical!
BTS: What final message do you want to send to fans and listeners?
Martine: Be a nice person and stand up for yourself. Keep yourself healthy and happy. Keep yourself alive. Find joy in the stupid things- go pet a dog; go buy a plant. Spread kindness!
We can’t wait to watch this bubbly artist share more smiles, deep words and killer music with us.
