As three of the most influential bands of the modern era, Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and Weezer just announced that they are hitting the road together! While speculations of this tour came out of the rumor mill a week or so ago, we finally have confirmation directly from the bands, as well as a list of tour dates. The Interrupters will be the opening act for the tour, who will be followed by Weezer, Fall Out Boy, with Green Day closing out the show.
Starting in Paris on June 13th and wrapping up in Philadelphia on August 29th, the trek will be performed entirely in stadiums, as a sort of callback to the huge rock and roll stadium tours of the 1980s and 1990s. As well as the tour announcement, each band dropped a new song as well. Weezer’s “The End of the Game” is an electric, yet subtle track that perfectly highlights Weezer’s strengths, Green Day’s “Father of All…” is an insanely catchy slice of pop-rock, practically begging to be clapped along to, and Fall Out Boy’s “Dear Future Self (Hands Up)” with Wyclef Jean is a tropical and bubbly take on the signature Fall Out Boy sound.
